- Multiple bulky goods restriction and application for external works
- 2,500 sq.m retail floorspace
In July 2015 our team secured a relaxation of a bulky goods restriction at the former DIY retail store in Wymondham, South Norfolk. Just over a year later, we coordinated three intertwined planning applications to allow Lidl to occupy the unit.
Our team engaged in pre-application discussions with the public via a comprehensive consultation period. We also presented the scheme to the Town Council. These discussions fed into a Statement of Community Involvement which we prepared.
Due to the site’s out of centre status, we prepared a sequential site assessment and a proportionate impact assessment. These formed two key components of our Planning and Retail Statement.
The full planning application was approved in December 2016. The two variation of conditions applications were approved in February 2016. The three decisions were all approved by officers and were not called into Planning Committee.
