- South Cambridgeshire District Council
- Outline planning permission for new residential development
- Up to 58 dwellings
We were commissioned by Welbeck Land to lead on preparation and submission of a planning application to promote land adjacent to Grafton Drive for residential development.
The site was formerly a piggery, located outside of the settlement boundary of Caldecote. At the pre-application stage, we instructed and managed a full consultant team to consider the constraints and opportunities presented by a proposed development and to inform the preparation of a valid application.
We managed the progress of the application monitoring the local and district wide situation of deliverable housing supply as well as ensuring consultation responses were received from consultees. To protect our client’s best interests, We then submitted a further outline application as well as appeal against the failure of the LPA to determine the original application within the statutory period. That appeal was heard by public inquiry which sat in September 2017 and was allowed with planning permission granted in December 2017.
