Silverlane Developments (NW) have proposals for an exciting new mixed-use development in Eccles town centre. A planning application is currently being prepared for a high-quality scheme providing a mix of commercial units and circa 270 apartments.
The proposed development is to be located at the top of Church Street and Vicarage Grove adjacent to the train station. The scheme will provide a landmark gateway and point of arrival to the beginning of Eccles’ main retail high street.
The scheme has been designed sensitively in relation to its surroundings providing a lower level continuation of Church Street and culminates in a 22-storey landmark residential tower addressing the M602 offering high levels towards Manchester, Winter Hill and of St. Mary’s church.
The scheme aims to create active frontages to both Vicarage Grove and Church Street with the provision of residential entrances and active commercial spaces along each. The scheme will provide an extension to the already-pedestrianised corridor of Church Street, providing a better connection and gateway to the train station.
The design and architectural language of the development will be contemporary in nature yet sensitive to the local environment, context and history of Eccles.
We have worked closely with the council to develop this scheme which, if approved, would deliver a range of much needed high-quality housing and commercial spaces that will act as a catalyst for further regeneration of the Eccles town centre area.
The application will now be progressed and submitted in the coming months following which you will be formally notified of the application by the Council and given the opportunity to comment.
