Cadishead, Salford, Greater Manchester
NJL Consulting successfully gained planning consent for 243 homes on behalf of Taylor Wimpey and Redrow Homes on a brownfield site in Cadishead, Salford.
The effects of the credit crunch hit the housing market hard with many important strategic schemes being postponed due issues surrounding the deliverability of the site. Cadishead was an example of a brownfield site being fully remediated with outline planning consent for 392 apartments which had become undeliverable.
NJL Consulting were instructed to work on behalf of Taylor Wimpey and Redrow Homes to reconfigure the site and orientate the mix of housing towards family homes in light of the considerable demand in the area. An application was prepared from scratch and submitted within 6 weeks.
Throughout the process NJL were at the heart of the affordable housing and Section 106 negotiations and overcame complex policy issues to successfully resolve the matter to provide a scheme that benefitted all parties and enabled the clients to deliver much needed family housing to Salford.
