Unity Square, Nottingham
Urban Regeneration Scheme To Deliver Major Mixed Use Scheme To Catalyse Delivery Of The Newly Emerging, Southside Area Of Nottingham City Centre.
The Unity Square site is a prominent gateway site located opposite Nottingham Midland Railway Station straddling the Southside area of the city and the southern area of the city centre. The site owners, Peel Holdings, seek to redevelop the existing site comprising multi storey car park, commercial offices and industrial units.
The location of the site adjacent to listed buildings and two conservation areas as well as within a designated regeneration zone mean an appropriate, design led framework must be developed to guide the delivery of a mixed use scheme.
NJL have project managed the setting of the appropriate design, planning and sustainability framework, which has been set within an outline planning permission, granted in late 2009. This is leading to continued working with the Local Authority and engagement with the commercial sector to bring forward reserved matters submissions in 2010.
