Woodside Masterplan, Wirral
Sustainable Urban Regeneration project located in the historic Woodside area of Birkenhead and directly opposite Liverpool waterfront.
The Woodside masterplan is being brought forward by Peel Holdings as a first phase in the Wirral Waters Strategic Regeneration Framework. The site is currently under-utilised and in a poor state of repair, but benefits from key public transport linkages and open views across the river Mersey. The proposed development aims to deliver a vibrant cultural destination with residential, leisure and commercial opportunities.
The application builds on previous concepts for the Woodside area, it seeks to deliver a sustainable and viable development which provides significant social and economic benefits to Birkenhead and Wirral in this strategically significant location.
NJL was appointed to project manage the application process, together with the environmental impact assessment and sustainability strategy. We continue to engage with the local planning authority and key consultees to inform the masterplan design process.
