Manchester Evening News: £350,000 Funding Boost for NJL Consulting

The firm, which employs 14 people at its Manchester headquarters, said the funding has enabled it to roll out an expansion plan and increase its workforce.

A north west planning and development consultancy firm is planning to double turnover in the next few years after securing £350,000 funding from Yorkshire Bank.

Established in 2003, NJL Consulting, which employs 14 people at its Manchester headquarters, said the funding has enabled it to roll out an expansion plan and increase its workforce.

NJL, which provides planning, sustainability and development consultancy services across commercial, retail, and residential sectors to a predominantly blue chip client base, secured the funding from Yorkshire Bank's Business and Private Banking Centre in Manchester.

The new facility will support the investment in the business and the recruitment of further staff to drive growth and enhance services to existing clients.

This follows swiftly on from their recent move near to Manchester Airport to accommodate future growth plans.

Nick Lee, partner at NJL, said: "This significant financial commitment will help us to extend our reach in a sector we have been established in for more than a decade.

"By investing in our business and new staff we will be able to expand our client base while providing existing customers with an enhanced service.

"This would not have been possible without the support of the Yorkshire Bank which has worked closely with our team to help us realise our ambitions."

NJL Consulting currently has annual turnover of around £1m and plans to double this to £2m in the next five years.

Sean Williams, head of Yorkshire Bank's Business and Private Banking Centre Manchester, said: "The success of NJL Consulting is testament to the experience, drive and expertise shown by the management team, and represents all that is good about the entrepreneurial spirit of businesses in the north west.

"As we begin to see signs of economic recovery, Yorkshire Bank remains focused on investing in the growth ambitions of the local business community."

The deal was arranged by Mark Preston, business development manager at Yorkshire Bank's Business and Private Banking Centre in Manchester.
