Planning permission secured in Tameside for BAK Engineering

NJL Consulting are pleased to announce that outline planning permission has been secured for the proposed development of 15 new houses in Dukinfield, on behalf of BAK Civil Engineering Ltd.

The site is allocated as employment land within Tameside’s Unitary Development Plan, and NJL were brought on board to demonstrate to the Council that residential development would be appropriate in this instance.  NJL coordinated the planning application, which included an Employment Land Report and Marketing Report to show that the site was not a viable employment site and that there was no demand for employment uses in this location.  Alongside coordination of external technical reports, NJL prepared a Planning Statement and Design and Access Statement in-house, submitted the planning application to Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council and then negotiated on behalf of the developer through to determination.

    End of 2014 Success

Towards the end of 2014 NJL Consulting had a string of successful planning decisions on complex projects across commercial, retail and residential sectors.

Firstly, planning permission was secured for the Momentum Business Centre@South Rings on behalf of Roundhouse Momentum Developments Ltd. The scheme comprises 5,444 sq.m of employment space in 43 units in the South Rings area of Bamber Bridge, near Preston. These units will be offered on flexible terms to promote small and expanding local businesses that can operate as Use Class B1, B2 or B8. South Ribble recently topped an assessment of job creation in the North West by international auditors Grant Thornton, outperforming both Liverpool and Manchester. The success of the South Rings area is a key reason for this position and this planning consent will allow this area to continue to support local business growth and job creation. Place North West published an article on the scheme earlier this month.
