Approval for Modern Extension to Grade II* Listed Hall in Wilmslow
On behalf of the client, our team for the second time have obtained approval for extension to Hawthorn Hall, Wilmslow.
The applications represent a revision to the planning permission and listed building consent which was granted in March 2018.
The project relates to a Grade II* listed building dating from the 17th Century, with an extension to the hall building which was added in the mid-1970s. The site also sits within the Hawthorn Lane Conservation Area.
The proposed development seeks demolition of the existing extension to the hall building, and replacement with a new extension providing new living accommodation over basement and ground floor, including two storey car storage for 8 cars.
The garage area contains 4 mechanical car lifts, enabling the space underneath at basement level to be utilised for additional storage of motor vehicles to maximise the efficient use of the site.
The proposed amendments will ensure that the house will be ideally suited to the owners’ lifestyle and will be well cared for into the future. The development is a unique structure which combines the historical building with modern architecture.
