Submission to introduce IN'n'OUT to Preston
Acting on behalf of Pillars Group Limited, NJL is pleased to confirm the submission and validation of a planning application which seeks to regenerate a neglected gateway site on the approach to Preston City Centre. The planning application seeks full consent for a car servicing garage with associated parking, landscaping and signage.
The site had previously been earmarked for residential and then more recently retail development. However, changes in market interest opened an avenue for the site to be used for employment purposes instead. Car servicing operator IN‘n’OUT has signed up to the scheme.
If approved, not only will IN‘n’OUT’s operations create approximately six full time employment positions, but it will promote the wider car servicing market, including for those who would supply equipment and stock to facilitate IN‘n’OUT. The construction of the unit will also provide short term employment opportunities.
NJL’s role has so far consisted of coordinating the application submission including liaising with our client and IN‘n’OUT, preparing a Planning Statement which sets out the case for the development and its compliance with local and national planning policy, and reviewing the wider application pack including Noise Assessment prepared by Miller Goodall. NJL will now liaise with Preston City Council towards what we hope will be a positive determination.
Hollie Barton, Planner at NJL Consulting, said “It is fantastic to be working towards a planning consent which, if approved, will not only provide employment opportunities and allow expansion of IN‘n’OUT’s national coverage, but will also physically enhance an underutilised site situated on one of the key roads to and from Preston.”
IN'n'OUT currently has nineteen branches across the UK including three in North West England (Liverpool, Warrington and Wigan).
A decision could be made on this planning application by late-August/early-September.
