Experienced Planner: Manchester

NJL is looking for a full time experienced planner to join its team in Manchester.  An experienced Planner, Senior Planner or Associate Director will be considered.  The candidate will be a key member of the team and the role will provide the opportunity to take a client fronting lead on a range of exciting projects with the support of a junior team.  

The candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of projects, dealing with clients and local planning authorities directly to take developments through the planning process, including through the appeals process.  The candidate will also be involved with appraising sites to assessing the prospects of securing planning permission and promoting sites through the Local Plan process.

Role requirements

The candidate must be an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual.  They will have good planning stage project management skills and experience of working with other disciplines involved in the planning process.  A strong understanding of development management procedures and working with local planning authorities through to the determination of planning applications is required.  Experience of the planning appeals process is preferable.  

They will be a Member of the RTPI and have excellent communication skills, both written and oral.  They will enjoy working as part of the team and be able to demonstrate a strong commercial client focus.
